ANOT for Petroleum Industry

This is an introduction to application of ANOT  (Advanced Nano Oxidation Technology ) process for reducing / eliminating contaminants in  petrochemical effluents.

Current Processing Method

Most petrochemical industries treat effluent in methods in series like physio chemical > by bio treatment > tertiary treatment > micron filtration, ultra filtration and reverse osmosis. they also sometimes adopt wet air oxidation to reduce the hydrogen sulphide odor generated.

Problems

The New ANOT Process :

In view of this we introduce a unique and emerging process where in we take the oxidation route to oxidize most organic, inorganic and metal contaminants…some un-oxidizable contaminants precipitate as sludge.

Advantages of the new process :

Advantages are least electromechanical equipment, safe – easy operation and environmental friendly process. 

Effluent treatment

By merely dosing or integrating NOXXALL® into the feed inflow (API – TPI) pipe of the raw collection / holding / equalization tank NOXXALL® mixes with the flow velocity to react. The reaction time required is just about 2 seconds to 6 minutes to oxidize most contaminants. 

Sludge treatment

To address this problem we introduce ANOT  (Advanced Nano Oxidation Technology ) process.  By merely diluting sludge in NOXXALL® treated water and adopting a simple process we can oxidize and reduce the quantity by over 98% leaving a residue of unoxidized particles mainly silica which could safely be discharged into landfills causing no harm.  This process could be repeated on site many times to reduce the accumulated sludge load at sites.

Adding 20% of sludge to the NOXXALL® treated effluent water and retreat with ANOT (Advanced Nano Oxidation Technology )  process. As a results it was possible to oxidize most of it and the residue in dry weight amounted to just 0.03% to 0.05% most of it being silica. 

Oil spill treatment

It is common for transfer pipes to burst and oil gets spilled on lands, sometimes agriculture lands causing damage to crop and contaminates the entire stretch of land. 

This has collateral damage like compensation – buying up lands from farmers at unreasonable prices. during rains the oil spreads to larger areas causing further damage. 

By merely spraying NOXXALL® mixed with water on the oil spilled – spread areas most of the oil either floating or emulsified will get oxidized and remainant water evaporates leaving the land area possibly dry.

Petroleum vessels

Most process vessels either onshore or offshore require periodical cleaning of sediments or inner walls to increase the process and performance life of them. due to high process temperature sediments get stuck solidified in these vessels, sometimes requiring them to be replaced at high costs. 

During cleaning operations NOXXALL® could be mixed with water – the vessel partially filled and allowed a retention time of a few hours or overnight for reaction. this would destabilize the solidified sediment – break the bond and liquify the sediment, thery by making it easy for it to be drained on to any container for safe discharge.

Onshore or offshore rigs

Skid mounted treatment plants could be installed having least footprint for treatment process of effluent and sludge etc.
